If you value your family, and you want to keep your wife and your lifestyle- I can't fault the man for having trouble giving that up. The Southern Baptists in my family disown family members for that sort of thing. I can fault him for abuse of office, and for hypocrisy, although I can understand why he wanted to be rabidly anti-homosexual- it must have made him feel safer, as he must have thought it was good cover. It's possible he even believed it was evil- in which case I have to feel even sorrier for him. Imagine believing that about yourself. Very very sad. Doesn't mean such a person isn't toxic to society, but it's still a waste of a human life's potential, and the way I look at things, that's always sad.
