I think Snowfield is (probably) a pipe dream. Lots of rock, like Shore Gold, but economics are dicey. Dicey means never. Unless you are Debeers and you need the one carat per hundred tons of really, really rare barber pole striped blue and pink octahedrally round hermaphrodite diamond clusters.

That goes double for anything in Ontario, until we vote the liberalis uber alles out and we get a thinking government in. I mean McGuinty is a hell of a nice guy but 13% hard white shiny carbon royalty effects more people than just DeBeers. People have to work and governments aren't making that any easier.

Anything thought up by the Tahera people was designed to fail. Aber's involvement in them did not guarantee they would make it. If came from a dupuicey group, got taken over by a dicey opportunistic group and finally fell to people who wanted to consolidate their interests. It was however a small operation. So it has ultimately pay back problems. And once you are in that business and have all that supply you have to deal with a rather nasty cartel. Not even the Russian government could push those guys around. And now we have people in Florida who are ex military security people looking to dump synthetics in Walt Disney colours on the market. And they were not the only ones with machines. A few people I knew who had dreams of that sort of thing were looking to make a business out of making beautiful gems that were hand designed to the user's specs. But they ain't cheap either. Takes a week to make them, and you can tell they are not genuine if you have any diamond smarts at all. They are however real carbon, with small metal cores, that are detectable. There are those who say they can make carbon without the core bit. I dunno.
