Paul - Real serious is not to be sniffed at...with the deadlines most graphics outfits are facing, believe me, speed and non-crashability counts bigtime. I do own some Intel; and am a fan of their marketing (except for the bunny suit commercials - they don't quite make it). BUT let's call a spade a spade. The Alpha is the fastest platform available right now. I would be hesitant to label such an achievement "a dead end", especially as an engineer. Paul, as I think you know, I respect and admire your posts. I've learned a great deal from them. I'd read a book if you'd write it -- but...Let's give credit where it's due. Barb
