Hard as a rock? Can't drill? Seems funny considering that is exactly the type of thing these drills are designed for. Furthermore, ground doesn't freeze very deep - measured in inches. Maybe they don't drill in winter, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with ground hardness. Do they use water to bring debris up from the hole? Maybe this causes problems in winter, but now I'm speculating.... In any case, where there is a will, there is a way. Pete
