<<If we are fixing everyone anyway as you say - why not do it more efficiently and right?>>

I have yet to see any "Universal Health Care" plan that would teach people how to develop and sustain a lifestyle that prevents most disease. John Edwards' plan would require that all women get blasts of radiation to their breasts for early detection of breast cancer. That's the wrong approach. We need to figure out why women develop breast cancer and work towards preventing the disease.

The French system is better than the American system but it's just a start and it's just a payment/billing system. Medical insurance costs should be adjusted for the lifestyle of the person. If you smoke, guzzle booze and eat lots of dead animals, you should pay a lot more for your health insurance than someone to who takes care of themselves.

One price for all is stupid. It's like the guy with 4 DUI's and 8 accidents paying the same for car insurance as everyone else.
