<sort of OT but ties into SyQ a bit> Hi Rocky, ...it's been a long time...
We haven't always seen eye-to-eye in the past but I noticed your post and was hoping you wouldn't mind providing some insight. First, about your EM-U sampler -- I'm a former Emuon (that's what we called ourselves) and I had heard that IOM got dropped from EMU sort of in correlation with the Roland debacle. Has there been any verifiable record to this, that you know of? From what I understand, Roland hasn't taken on SyQ directly -- not an "IOM didn't work, so we go with SyQ" situation. Have you heard anything about that?
What kind of sampler did you get? (I was contracted for initial test and assembly work on the E-4 and ESI-32). Did you use the sampler with any of the IOM products and have you noticed any real differences (sample writes, bank loading, etc...) aside from the obvious capacity differences? What's the 'market push' in the music stores like (proSyQ/proIOM)? I remember you were in NY, so maybe it's Manny's or Sam Ash, etc...(or did you go with one of the catalog vendors)
Take Care -- why have you been away so long? -MrB |
