I'm just pointing out one core value - whether humans should receive equal treatment in the eyes of the law regardless of their religious or ethnic background - where the US and Israel have completely separate views. The US is indifferent to a prospetive immigrant's religion or racial background, whereas Israel cares. Why does such a non-controversial observation bother you so much?

Because it's false. In principle, Israel also believes that "humans should receive equal treatment in the eyes of the law regardless of their religious or ethnic background." Yeah, you can argue that Palestineans don't receive equal treatment, but you also argued that the US believed in this principle despite the existence of slavery, despite thefts from and murders of Native Americans and despite Jim Crow. I would argue that if the existence of the US was imperiled in the same way that the existence of Israel is, or if the US had suffered anywhere near as many terrorist acts as Israel has--no, make that a quarter the number--US citizens and politicians would respond with far greater aggression and less discrimination against the group(s) deemed to be responsible than Israel has. Consider the Japanese camps of WWII, for example, not to mention more recent examples.

Most Jewish people think that they're "different" because of things like this:

For some reason, we believe that countries where such stories get printed aren't just anti-Zionist, as some maintian, but don't care very much for Jewish people.
