Amur Minerals H1 losses steady; Kun-Manie pre-feasibility study delayed further

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Amur Minerals Corp, a nickel and copper development company operating in Russia's Far East, posted slightly wider losses for the first half and announced a further delay in the expected release of a pre-feasibility study for its flagship Kun-Manie project.

Pretax losses for the AIM-listed company widened to 1.16 mln usd from 1.15 mln in the year-earlier period as the company continued to spend on exploration and equipment. It has no revenue.

Amur Minerals said the pre-feasibility study is targeted for release in October. It originally expected the study to be published at the end of June or early July, but in mid-July said that it anticipated a delay of five weeks.

The company has also asked SRK, its primary contractor on the pre-feasibility study, to include data from a separate study on the potential of building a flash smelter or electric arc furnace that would enable Amur Minerals to produce a final saleable nickel copper product on or near the site.
