I am not arguing that oil is important in our FP. What i am saying its not the only thing. Chris' logic is better than yours. Without israel, the US might have better competed for arab good will and been in a better place by not taking into account israels survival or its form of govt. I would maintain israels' might might make it far more important today as an ally as it was during the cold war. Ask the sunnis who deters iran better or whose threats are more credible. Its cloae. Without israel, the US stands alone. I thought you didnt like that.
