I've been on a generic diazide for years. Some 5 years ago my doctor added Lisinopril. These 2 meds keep my BP safely below the 140/90 level. I have a cuff here at home and check it fairly regularly (once or twice a week). Typical readings lately have been in the 130/80 range. You might ask about these, they're not pricey.
