You don't need the "end of oil" to totally disrupt the world economy (and especially the US economy). Oil is already up 350% in 8 years - futures.tradingcharts.com. A good argument could be made that that price increase is in anticipation of the commodity becoming more precious. When production actually does start to decline, watch out.

Basic risk management: it would be hard to invest more into alternates to oil energy clients than it will cost us to be caught flat footed when the shit hits the fan.

BTW I was thinking about the concept of the 'cloth coat Republican'. What did they call Republicans who wore mink coats? Just curious if they had a name for the rich Republicans.
