I'm woefully ignorant of the World Bank. After reading those articles I know more.....but now I'm angry and depressed...<g> I'm sure that I'm not the only one that's getting sick and tired of wonton corruption in just about every program that the US has had a major role in developing. We start these things out with the best of intentions yet despite our efforts we end up getting ripped off. UN, the World Bank and most likely any other program out there that was intended to either help developing countries, aid in disasters etc... Isn't it about time that we use our clout an reform these organizations and demand accountability as part of our continuing involvement? Surely being the largest contributer to the WB the US should have some recourse. From what I've read so far it seems Mr. Wolfowitz was an honorable man trying to do the right thing but he was blocked at most every turn and then railroaded out of office. I hope Bob Zoellick is up to the job.
