The frenzy in telecommunications stocks ignighted by the World Com bid for MCI has lit the fuse. The LECS were starting to take off when World Com burst on the scene and this combination has really shown itself in the stock prices. I believe you'll start to see a wave of mergers that will rival what weve seen in past year in the banking and financial industries. The old line Comm companies-ATT GTE RBOCS etc all will be forced to move to enable them to compete in the furure digital world. Analog capability is becoming a very serious anchor around the neck of an operating company.
