I have seen that action a lot, both in stocks and in options.

What I am afraid to do is to issue a market order, and watch

bid 0.74 ask 0.75

turn into bid 0.74 ask 0.85 and I get my trade at 0.85.

***********

I am not that fond of this "investing" either, however, these are the stocks that can go from 0.75 to 1.15 over two weeks and a little news.

I expect that many people either make a living or supplement their income by having about dozen or more of these trades on at one time. Trying to get more than a few thousand dollars in any position takes lots of time, and often can't be done.

The other nasty thing about these stocks is they can drop 20-80% for any reason with no notice and NO WAY to get out.

I prefer stocks over 1.50 where there some volume and float, enough so I can get a decent position.
