Thanks for the link. Wasn't this conference the one that you were going to try to attend? Would be interested in hearing a report especially if you were able to talk to anyone from Softworks.
In my opinion this Y2K issue is a lot bigger than most think. Although I'm not holding CCEE based on Y2K, I think it might just be the icing on the cake.
Here's an interesting paragraph from the story you linked....

The Y2K issue is the need for most computer owners to make sure their systems are able to read the date correctly when the millennium changes. Tests have shown that if computers are unable to correctly identify the year 2000 in their date fields, many of them will crash or spew out garbage.

It appears that some computers are having this problem in 1997.
