To be fair to Microsoft, that "restore the system to the default and then we can try to help you" attitude is more the fault of the PC maker, than MS. Its MS that created the issue in the first place, so they get blame for the the overall issue, but its not like everything bad that happened in that case was a Vista, or even a more general MS issue.

I agree about 4GB of RAM. Hopefully support will be much better when I buy my next computer.

On current 32 bit PCs you don't even get the full 4GB. I get about 3.5GB available. Some people with multiple high RAM video cards get as little as 2.5 or so.
