Suicide attacks are almost impossible to stop.


The Israelis say they have stopped 9 out of 10 attacks since 2001.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that suicide attacks are impossible to stop when the people who want to commit them are allowed to mingle freely among you.

The Israelis stopped most of the attacks by setting up the checkpoints. They do cause a lot of hardship for the Palestinians. However, getting blown up causes a lot of hardship for the Israelis, so they're not very responsive to the calls from HRW et al to remove all checkpoints at once.
