I appreciate your honesty and openness about this. I knew some people back in the 70s who used heroin, all but one wound up in a bad way. It takes a certain strength of character to overcome heroin addiction.

In those days you had to go to a rough section of the city to get heroin. I was talking to a friend's son recently who goes to high school in a nice upper middle class town. He told me heroin is easily available in that school. I was stunned, but maybe I shouldn't have been. Those who say we're winning the War on Drugs are either lying or delusional.
