09:43 Semiconductors: July chip shipments slightly better than typical after a weak June; investors should overweight chip stocks - Wedbush

Wedbush believes further chip stock sell-off would represent an attractive entry point for 2H in select names like MSCC, ONNN, ATML, IRF, MPWR, and OIIM. They continue to expect the next upcycle to be in 2H driven by strong demand for PCs and consumer products. They also note that July shipments were 8.6% better than the historical median after three months of weaker than normal shipments. The firm maintains their 2007 chip growth forecast at 5% on the strength of "back--to-school" demand.
