The GOP politicians are just out for their own benefit and Craig's situation is a negative for that. Naturally, they want it to go away. Contrast that with what the Democrats do. A politician's job is to stay in office for the benefit of his constituents. Craig has been good for his constituents. It's part of our system, whether you like it or not. I personally think we should do away with the campaign season and more or less have a dry vote with people running on their accomplishments so far, without the fanfare and genuflecting.
