Suicide bombings have been neutralized. Israel can respond to rockets

Suicide bombings haven't been neutralized mike, just held in check through continual Israelis raids and checkpoints. If Israel gives up the West Bank then Israel will no longer be able to do the things that are holding it in check.

Settlers were used by the pols and now they are extremists living in a foreign land holding their own nation at risk. Time

They are not living in a foreign land, they are living in disputed territory of Israel. The Palestinians have never recognized any borders for Israel and still do not today. Why should should you be so stupid as to grant the borders of the country of Palestine which never existed and which they don't even want (since it doesn't contain the whole of Israel) when they don't return the favor? Why should a parcel like Gush Etzion, which is next to Jerusalem, was owned by Jews before 1948 and seized by Jordan in 1948, and returned to its owners in 1967, be automatically considered Palestinian? Shouldn't that be subject to negotiation?

I know why the Arabs suddenly decided that the Green Line was a sacred boundary after Jordan attacked Israel in 1967 & lost the West Bank. I just don't understand why rational people think it fosters peace to agree with them.

There was a time when Rabin was PM right after the signing of that agreement when the pals were giving israali soldiers flowers in the WB. I remember that small period in time. Maybe that feeling can be resurrrected?

Rabin was presented with a fait accompli by that snake Peres. He tried to make the best of it. But negotiating with Arafat was like doing diplomacy with Al Capone. If Rabin had lived he would have only reached the same conclusion. Arafat took that window of opportunity and shut it for a generation.
