ps. i still remember the women of the parish years , many years ago would go up to the Polish church to the pastor up there to confession. why, he didn't speak english,, many of polish never spoke english it was another community. their kids did of course and young parents. it takes a generation or so.

well i used to serve funerals, if one during the week, as an altar boy, got you out of class room. and the pastor from the Polish church came down to assist on funeral masses requiring three priests for a high funeral mass. I never found him not understanding English, in fact he spoke it very well. but the ladies always seemed more relaxed going to the Polish church. ggg
