i think they are doing the trial to show that zestril/coreg cr one pill a day is effective so they can sell it...i think they have to do a trial to sell it even though each drug is already individually approved.. zestril generic is lisinopril...which does come generic now i think no point in coreg ir/zestril combo because its twice a day and not once a day...the whole reason coreg did not do well in hypertensive market is its bid and not daily.. i agree its bad news that all the generics are coming aboard at once which will drop generic price big time... big hope for coreg cr is the hypertensive market... when a post mi patient takes a statin/asa/plavix/b-blocker/ace at a minimum it always help to have a combo drug for compliance...gsk messed up a commonsense trial compliance..
