no more trucks.. same amount of trucks or maybe more if they break down a load to less than truck load. no consumer would not gladly pay more for products.. if they would we wouldn't have seen the garment , shoe , toy industries all leave the country. i got over two years sixteen bids on tearing off existing roof and putting new roof on. i am retired now 13, no pension. and live with out soc sec for the first 11 years. i finally went with low bidder. i checked them all out starting with supplier home page and recommended builders. so i knew i was getting the same materials and warranties from supplier. the only difference was cost of labor. the differences in estimates would amaze you. starting at some club at $17,000 to hd lowes at $13,000 to local at $10,000 to $6800. The men who did my house didn't speak english all had green cards and worked like hell.
