Open question: Is it good use of public funds to mount the type of search going on for this Steve Fosset, who went missing a few days back? National Guard, helicopters, state and the whole ball of wax. The justification is in no way comparable to the effort made to rescue the missing coal miners in Utah. I mean, when my buddy and I went on a little hike recently that proved to be more difficult than we had hoped, we joked that if one of us fell off a cliff the other was to leave the body there but take the pistol. That's pretty much the way I'd want it, too.
