I think people are fed up with the hypocricy of celebrities who parade around in jets while telling us homies to stop polluting the planet.. Oprah is quite unique..there's a generation of women who've grown up with her sharing and living her most vulnerable aspects(her yo-yo dieting, here childhood sexual violations, her 'girlie' type preoccupations like cosmetics and fashion, her yearnings to travel and 'be someone'...she wasn't 'anyone' when she began her show.. and most importantly, she encourges people to be the best they can be..she notes racial and class disparities without the usual angry victimization rhetoric..I happen to respect her very much because of what she's done with her humble beginnings and cuz she's kept her heart in the right place..at bottom, we're all looking for that?
