RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RG Global (OTC Bulletin Board: RGBL - News) has awarded the turnkey plant construction and installation contracts for two coal bed methane (CBM) produced water treatment plants to Rimon, Ltd., a water management and treatment business in Israel. Incorporating RG Global's proprietary Catalyx(TM) ion exchange technology, Rimon will provide the equipment and installation services for the water treatment plants to be utilized by Black Diamond Energy and Yates Petroleum to remove contaminants from the water associated with CBM production.
ADVERTISEMENT In 2007, RG Global's Catalyx Fluid Solutions (CFS) division signed a contract with Black Diamond Energy to build a 20,000 barrel per day CBM wastewater treatment plant, and has subsequently signed a five-year $20 million contract with Yates Petroleum to operate a CBM water treatment plant for them.
Rimon, Ltd. specializes in financing, manufacturing, installation and operation of large-scale water treatment and wastewater treatment plants worldwide. (website: gaonagro.com. Rimon is jointly owned by Israel-based Gaon Agro Industries Ltd. (TASE: GAT), a specialist in water infrastructure, desalination, wastewater treatment and water purification, and the Granot Group, which is more than 50 years old and has over US $1 billion in annual revenue.
"RG Global is a technology provider that focuses on developing unique technologies which reduce operating costs of current water treatment processes in many areas," said Mr. Juzer Jangbarwala, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of RG Global. "By vertically integrating the manufacturing of major components used in water treatment plants, such as valves, pipes, controls and filter vessels, Granot is able to provide extremely competitive pricing and integrated reliability assurances to us. We will partner with financially stable and operationally strong companies like Rimon, Granot and Gaon for implementation of our technologies to free our resources so we can focus on research and development and further explore the best opportunities available."
Rimon and RG Global's CFS division are in discussions for possibly deeper cooperation where RG Global would be the technology provider for multi-million dollar projects with Rimon.
"RG Global's waste minimization technology is superior to any technology we have examined," explained Mr. Yossi Elmalem, Rimon General Manager and CEO. "We believe we can utilize this technology as well as other technologies from RG Global to reduce the operating costs on many of our current projects. We are very excited and eager to take this relationship further in the fields of nitrate, ammonia and arsenic removal."
Mr. Jangbarwala noted, "I believe the combination of our technology with the competitive turnkey pricing from Rimon will make us the lowest cost provider of turnkey and build/own/operate (BOO) plants in the desalination, municipality water/sewage treatment and specialty water treatment markets. Granot's financial strength will allow us to offer our clients hassle-free BOO contracts, such as the ones we have in the coal bed methane industry."
