Menachim Begin....head of terrorist organisation Irgun becomes president of Israel..... Either you are totally ignorant of Israeli history or you a nincompoop to claim that is a valid comparison. I don't believe the second; the first is partly true but not enough to justify such a glib comparison just because Begin was called a terrorist. Look up: Ben Gurion, Begin, Histadrut, Hagnanah, Irgun, Altalena If you are not familiar with all these names, you should be. The Jews of the yishuv organized the institutions of a state, which were ready in 1948. All militias were brought under control of the Haganah, which was itself put under civilian control. No such organization happened on the Arab side, and has not happened to this day, though there have been spasmodic attempts to make it happen, or at least to make it look like it's happening. Power still lies in the gun, and the guns still belong to rival factions.
