Sounds like you came to a good conclusion. Fair warning: One of my pet peeves is people who leave their carts next to their car and drive off. Then the cart rolls into somebody else's car and dings it up. I always take my cart to a collection point, or back inside. Taking it to a collection of others like you did is better than leaving it where you load up.
