I dont thinks we can exist without hope but neither should we allow hope to make us stupid. My hope lies in hopelessness. Both sides must give up the dream of keeping it all. The Israelis got there in the later 1980s, but the Pals aren't there yet. Now they are trusting in Allah to deliver the final victory in 100 years (comparisons between Israel and the Crusader kingdoms are rampant.) Let the Pals get a good long taste of life under Hamas watching their little kids being turned into martyrs. Hopelessness can't come fast enough. Did you notice bin laden offered to leave us alone if we all convert to islam---his brand of course. It's a Koranic requirement. It's not kosher to launch a jihad until after you have exhorted the infidels to submit to Islam. My takeaway from his rant was that if we elect a President who is viewed as weak or someone he can intimidate he will. Thoughts turned to Rudy. I think one of the reasons we have more or less been left alone is that he thinks bush is nuts enough to nuke south wahiriazan if there was another terror attack here. I don't think we've been left alone at all, I think AQ has been trying. Look at that plot to blow up 11 airliners with liquid explosives that was stopped a couple of years ago. Look at the German plot that was just stopped - thanks I might add to US warrantless surveillance of foreign calls. My takeaway from the rant was that Osama bin Laden has identified his leftist allies in the West and is exhorting them to convert to Islam and join forces with him. I bet Azzam al Amriki had a hand writing this speech. After all, that's how he wound up in AQ, wasn't it?
