You can say that, but most of the liberal battles have been won, imo- and the country is just getting more tolerant all the time, and more leftist :-) I don't see the big conservative upswing. You get bubbles of conservatism, but the country burns out on them pretty quickly. I don't suggest the country take a large leap to the liberal side, but I do think the direction we are moving is a liberal direction- and we move as a huge tanker moves, slowly, but inexorably leftward. The center is drifting- and it is drifting left, imo. Go ahead and argue against that- but I'd like to know on what you might base that. I base my POV on the tremendous shifts in mainstream public opinion since the 50's. Look at what the hippies were fighting for in the 60's- and I'd argue that most of those ideas are fairly mainstream now- it's getting harder and harder to find the species Archie Bunkerus.
