Yeah, your retrospective anand link was 2.66 Core2 vs 3GHz K8! Phenom is going to be an expensive flop on the desktop. IDF should be providing some interesting Penryn benches. Anand also confirmed Phenom launch in December. Looks like AMD's only "surprise" was sending out a working 2.5GHz/120W Barc sample to reviewers, and saying it'll ship some time in Q4. Their benchmark dishonesty was to be expected. :) Gotta love their own gcc int_rate_base runs on Intel equipment. BTW, I see Sun has joined HP & IBM in the "Q4/by the end of the year" camp for Barc servers. And what is with Johan benching Tulsa instead of Tigerton?
