I guess we lucked out! What happened was we went to a trade show or the fair - you know where people in booths talk about their businesses, and that's where we had met the roofer guy....We talked to him - young guy - and were impressed with him and his products and his apparent business ethic. Had him check out our roof and give us a bid. He also gave us addresses of homes he had done, so we could check out his work, see which roof we thought might look best...he had the other company beat every which way.
Perhaps he was very busy that year, but he said we could wait on our roof. We did, for a year. And then we decided the roof was imperative. We called and said we needed it done - had to wait over two months. He was really busy but squeezed us in finally - two years ago August...it looks wonderful. We have a big hill behind the house and could walk up and look down on it...very nice, we are very happy. I still wish we had gotten a skylight, it's just the debate between us as to where became a stalemate, but should we ever agree, the roof guy said, no problem, call and he'll install. We have a bid for that, too.
addendum...so my b/f just came by, I said you and I were discussing Mexican trucking issue. He hates unions, too. You guys! But he disagrees with you, semi-vehemently, John, about allowing Mexican truckers into this country. He sees no advantage, either. He's opposed. |
