"go ahead and believe what you want and you discount the rest."
No thanks.
As Keynes famously noted, "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?"
And, as Thomas Sowell said: "The difference between a policy and a crusade is that a policy is judged by its results, while a crusade is judged by how good it makes its crusaders feel."
I'll stick with what facts can be quantified.... (regardless of how anybody 'feels'....)
"... meanwhile, there is no way you can tell me that the iraqi people would prefer to have sadam insane back in power..."
Well... some say that his small home town of Tikrit still loves him (why not, he put so many of 'em from his small clan into great power and wealth...), and *maybe* some small numbers of the 20% - 30% or so of Iraqis that are the Sunni minority still might prefer somebody like him to the SHIITE government that they have, and fear, right now (for the same reasons, mostly... it's 'good to be the Top Dog').
But, NO, I certainly DON'T BELIEVE --- nor have I EVER SUGGESTED --- that the "iraqi people would prefer to have sadam back in power", or ANYTHING like that.
But, that would seem to be a bit of a different subject then the one I posted about... which was PUBLIC OPINIONS in Iraq about the occupation.... |
