Raising my hand here. Yep, been a problem for some three or four years.

I figured it was related to the reflux I was having. It seems to be a result of the esophogeal scarring from the reflux. The peristalsis action of the esophagus is damaged by the reflux action because it scars the esophagus. The acids in the stomach builds scar tissue, (when a reflux happens).

I try to stay off of wheat products, unless they're organic, and I don't have reflux. I still have the problem of the swallowing, meat especially, and I have to wait for it to go down. The scarring is the reason it happens, if you've had a reflux problem. I am trying to deal with it by eating less foods that cause the reflux, and giving the esophagus some time to heal, but it may never heal back to where it was when I was young. Damned stomach acid kicks ass!

It isn't likely to get much better unless you can stay off of foods that cause reflux, (and I'm assuming you've had a reflux problem)

The tissues will do their best if they're not assaulted by things we eat which we don't agree with.

I do know that when you FIRST NOTICE the BIND, I visualize the peristalsis, and try not to swallow saliva, and wait for it to go down. I hate throwing up in napkins at a restaurant because I ate too quickly.

Trying to feel the belch helps too. Its a horrible problem, and I wish I had an answer.

been there, not happy with it. I don't think Meds are an answer.
