I saw your post re: your trading in VLO.

Almost mimics what I did.

I got in at 48 and change, sold at 74 and change, then got in at a smaller position at 74 when I had seller's remorse.

Picked up at bit more in late August at 62 and change.

I am still deeply impressed with VLO's management and its thinking and plannning for the long term.

At this point, I plan to buy in very small increments until I amass a satisfactory ultra long term position. It would not surprise me, however, if it were the subject of a private equity deal, merger or other transaction.

Will be doing micro-tranches because the market is so uncertain. We have not yet seen the worst of this beast. Greensapn was right, it's 1987 all over again, but as usual he was a bit premature just as he was premature with his 'irrational exuberance' comment. In my view, that's the case because he sees the future much more clearly and therefore more near and more certain than just about anyone. Does that make any sense?
