For the uninitiated, Bell and Hawaiian Gardens are anything but gardeny or Hawaiian or bellish. They are two very lost suburbs of LA located on what is affectionately called the flats of LA.......mile after mile after mile of lower middle class, cracker jack box like, pink and brown and gray stucco houses interpersed with warehouses and factories topped with a brown gook called smog.
