Now [Waleed al Shehri] is protesting his innocence from Casablanca, Morocco...He told journalists there that he had nothing to do with the attacks on New York and Washington, and had been in Morocco when they happened. He has contacted both the Saudi and American authorities, according to Saudi press reports.

If this is indeed the case, there's no reason why it shouldn't be reported far and wide in various media outlets all over the world, not least of which by al Jazeera.

But, with respect to the latter...there's nothing there. Why? I'd think this to be 'front page' news for such a concern.

In fact, Al Jazeera cites him - within the context of the Bin Laden statement, of course - as being one of the hijackers; there is/are no asides, comments, or countermanding reference to there being controversy regarding such.

Do a search, and you'll find nothing.

Why is this allegation not being reported by the single, seemingly most appropos source?

Nor, I should add, is anything of those sort being reported in a single Moroccan newspaper.
