I was watching CNBC when the WTC was hit. I then called my, now-Ex, wife and told her what had happened and that I didn't think the first strike was an accident. Then I heard on the TV that the Pentagon had been hit and I looked in that direction and could see the smoke rising.. A few minutes after that I heard a tremendous "Boom!!" and thought it might have been another attack.. But I later learned from a friend that it was the sonic boom of an F-16 doing about Mach 2+ screaming into the area. Loudest sonic boom I've EVER heard.. literally rocked the area like an earthquake. And then I hopped into my vehicle and drove into Pentagon City to get a better view of what had happend (figured I was a witness to history, no matter whether we might be attacked again). My one memory I can't get out of my head from that day was seeing an Army Major walking toward me from the direction of the Pentagon. The guy was sporting a "2000 yard stare" and as he walked past me, I looked back and saw the bloody imprint of a hand on the back of his class B shirt. Clearly he'd been through hell and was trying to deal with the reality of it all.. Hawk
