"Saving and investing should not be punished." - Of course not. But savers make up what, roughly 10% of the population, being generous? No one gets elected by that 10%, they get elected by the idiot 90%. Those with the whiniest voices, the graspingest hands, and the lowest-priced votes.

You and I and others like us are massively outnumbered, and therefore doomed. <sigh>
