okay, don't laugh, but years ago we met this old timer that worked in the storage industry that swore the govt. had an alternative currency printed and stored in warehouses and that if necessary, the govt would order all banks closed, issue new currency (dropping a zero on everything), a start over situation in case of severe monetary crisis. said he saw the stuff. didn't think much of it at the time, but it does kind of make you wonder.
