Money is being spent. Period. And not only on tips. While those in the lower 10% (in incomes) of the US are having a tough time of things, the upper segment has not had a rough time of it. Far from it. CEOs being paid, on average, 3 to 4 hundred times what the average worker is making is only one place to point to show that the top is making money and spending it.

I would guess (and this is purely a guess) that the top 1% out spend the bottom 20%. Likewise, the top 10% probably out spend the bottom 60%!

You are totally wrong if you don't believe that the spending by the "haves" is more important to the overall economy then the spending by the "have nots".

Pointing at the debt levels of the bottom rungs of the economic ladder and noting that they are "excessive" is like saying: "The sun is hot". Of course they are.

The above statements are not ment to be social commentary but I'm guessing that you, Pearly, will take them as such. I'd like to see how you back up your statement:

..and the high school math does not work out if the one percent guys even donate all there money to the economy.
On what do you base such a statement?
