I don't think so. Bush is a straight shooter, but he's also an idiot. He doesn't know what he's talking about half the time. The other half he's trusting all his lieutenants who have dark motives, and yet, he's not intelligent enough to question their motives and use critical thinking to cut through the subterfuge. I honestly still think Bush has a good heart and tries to do what is right. However, I think he is hopelessly outmatched by people like Cheney who are cynical old men with profit motives at heart and completely devoid of a conscience. Given that, Bush was destined to be a failure from day one. The first symptom of a good leader is that he surrounds himself with good people. Bush failed that first test.
