Looked under the "rock" and found the snake: "The bank has moved into sub-prime lending via a deal with Lehman Brothers. Although the mortgages will be sold under Northern Rock's brand through intermediaries, the risk will be underwritten by Lehman Brothers." en.wikipedia.org
