A bet against the USD looks to me like a pretty low-risk bet, so long as one is not using 20-to-1 leverage. I favor the yen, but gold may also work.

I read something somewhere in the last 24 hours to the efect that Middle Eastern oil producers and Russia (or their banks) have been buying gold. Do you know anything about that?
