When we were paying down deficits under Clinton, Greenspan said it was good. I agreed with him.

When Clinton wanted to use the current account surplus he had raised to pay down some of the national debt, Greenspan said it would be bad to "pay off the debt to soon"! WRONG.

Clinton passed the surplus on to Bush. Bush gave us "our money" back in the form of tax cuts. Greenspan said it was good, even though the lions share went to very wealthy people unlikely to spend it and stimulate the economy. WRONG.

When Bush began running deficits, Greenspan said it was ok. WRONG!

Now that he's no longer Fed chair, Greenspan says Bush is fiscally irresponsible! He COULD have told us that prior to 2004 - just as Colin Powell could have told us what he thought and knew. These men are both gutless wonders.
