Ken, in my experience the ship doctors are medically savvy and astute. A couple of the ER docs I used to work with would regularly work the cruise ships, and they said the same thing. Also, to my knowledge from those days, the better cruise ships have fairly comprehensive sick bays or infirmaries.

I guess it goes without saying we in the ER were always suggesting to our sailing docs that they should encourage more ancillary personnel on the ships (meaning us, of course). Sadly, this was never implemented, dooming the rest of us to remain in the ER forever. <g> - Holly
