So I went over there to start a CD, and the lobby was full of folks presumably making deposits. I had to wait quite a while for service, and just as my number came up I got cold feet and walked out. The bank rep tried to call me back, but it didn't feel right and and I just boogied. Two weeks later the FDIC shut down the bank, which was insolvent. They combined the assets with those from another failing bank, injected new capital, and reopened the new entity under new management. But the new combined bank went under 18 months later!
