TJ, Uncle Al KBE was a great man who kept financial relativity theory in good order and condition, with 20 years of good going. There was no implosion in 1987. 1991 did NOT bring a Great Depression. The Mexican woes in the mid 1990s passed by with nary a glitch. The Globalstar-propelled Long Term Capital Management crash and Asian Contagion were interesting financial curiosities. The huge Biotelecosmictechdot.com Y2K irrational exuberance was a biggie, but segued on through to 911 which did NOT cause any problem to speak of. World record low interest rates kept things on the go and enabled a huge housing boom so everyone has houses.

Now, interest rates are back up to Happy Meal standard. Houses are everywhere. Cyberspace rules. Debts are being retuned, revamped, cleared and otherwise tidied up.

You are obviously confused about his amazing track record managing a state-controlled fiat currency in a democratically ruled mob scene.

He didn't have much power to speak of. He couldn't even get King George II to veto spendthrift mania by Congress. That's not power. All he could do was fiddle with some finances.

He didn't condemn anyone to eternal servitude and financial death - they all selected their financial shenanigans. Not a single one was forced to borrow from Uncle Al KBE.
