That is true.

"China entered the war."

That changed the game.

" MacArthur planned to fight China"

Which was totally nutso. We didn't have the troops or the ammunition to fight China. Now McArthur was planning on nuking China to even things up.

Which ran the substantial risk of involving the Soviet Union. And there was no reason to expect it to be contained if that happened.

So Truman declined to start WWIII. Given the information that became available after the fall of the Soviet Union, that is precisely what would've happened.

Like The Gambler advised, you've got to know when to hold'em and when to fold'em. Excessive testosterone would have gotten millions killed.

There is a difference between standing up and extreme stupidity. Never lose sight of your goals.
